Miss France 2012

Miss Alsace, Delphine Wespiser, was crowned Miss France 2012 on Saturday. She has become the 65th beauty queen of the pageant.Wespiser is a 19-year-old management student. She was announced the winner at the Penfeld parc des expositions in Brest, succeeding Laury Thilleman.

The first and second runners-up of the event are Miss Pays de Loire, Mathilde Couly, and Miss Reunion, Marie Payet, respectively.The Miss France pageant is an annual beauty pageant, whose competitors are regional winners of local contests in Metropolitan France and its overseas territories.

She was crowned by last year’s winner, the lovely Laurie Thilleman -who was a favorite at “Miss Universe 2011” but didn’t make the semi-finalist cut. Delphine’s first and second runner-up of the event were Miss pays de Loire  Mathilde Couly, and Miss Reunion , Marie Payet, respectively.

 

Too young to model ?

With the help of Carine Roitfield, Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau, 10 years old poses for French Vogue. Wearing makeup, high heels and haute couture, Blondeau looks a far cry from a typical 10-year-old. Even in childish smocks and cotton tees, her expressions are oddly adult — a product, perhaps, of living half her young life in the fashion world (she hit the runway for Jean-Paul Gauthier at age 5). A lot of people were shocked by the editorial in Vogue, saying she is too young to be taking such sexy poses and wearing so much make up, and some say Blondeau’s grown-up beauty is giving other young girls unhealthy ideas about how they should look…

I agree that some of the poses are a little too much but at the same time, it was the theme of the editorial (grown up babies), so I don’t know why some people are making it such a big deal.

The Victoria’s secret fashion show 2011

Wednesday november 9th, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2011, the most celebrated fashion show of the world, featured the Victoria’s Secret’s hottest supermodels including Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio,  Doutzen Kroes, Chanel Iman, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge, and Lindsey Ellingson.

Although Wednesday’s Victoria Secret Fashion Show heated the New York State Armory, it won’t be aired on CBS until Nov. 29 at 10pm.

This year, the show presented 6 themes including Ballet, Super Angels, Passion, Angels Aquatic, I Put a Spell on You and Club Pink , and 38 models presenting 69 looks of the  U.S. lingerie brand.

Performers such as Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Kanye West and Maroon 5 treated the audience with extra hypes at the $12 million show.

Astralian model Miranda Kerr, in her first post-baby catwalk, stole the show with this year’s $2.5 million Fantasy Treasure Bra – encrusted with nearly 3,400 precious  gems, a total of 279 carat.

 

Adele undergoes throat surgery

Following last week’s news that Adele will undergo surgery “to alleviate tcancel the remainder of her tour and appearances this year in support of her sophomore he current issues with her throat,” the 23-year-old London-bred Grammy winner has successfully undergone laser microsurgery on her vocal cords to stop recurrent bleeding.

The singer was recently forced to cancel her tour and apppearances for her new album, 21, which is currently on track to become the best selling-release of 2011.

Luckily, she is expected to make a full recovery and posted a message on her website appologizing to fans :” Singing is literally my life, it’s my hobby, my love, my freedom and now my job. I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or I risk damaging my voice forever”.

Kim Kardashian’s $20 million wedding only lasted 72 days

After just over two months of marriage, and three weeks after my article on her wedding, the reality start Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce this morning form her basketballer soon-to-be ex husband Kris Humphries.

Kimberley released a statement to E! News, explaining her decision to file for the quickie divorce : “After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage,” she said. “I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.”

The couple announced their engagement back in May after six months of dating. They tied the knot on August 20th in front of a superstar congregation at an way over the top wedding.

All of this for nothing?? Seriously, was this wedding only for money and publicity ?

The tragic news

One week after sitting down with host Ann Curry, and stunning the “Today” show by announcing on air that she has breast cancer, the Italian American celebrity news personality and host on E! News Giuliana Rancic is back at work. She told E! news: “I am so thrilled to get back to work and return to my E! family today. I still have a long road ahead, but thanks to everyone’s overwhelming love, support and prayers, it will be an easier journey”.

Racic, 37, underwent a double lumpectomy several days ago to remove the cancerous cells. She discovered the disease while prepping for IVF treatment.

Fortunately, she is now on the mend for her surgery and recovering from the ordeal.

Once unpon a time

On Sunday october 23rd, the debut of “Once unpon a Time”, an upcoming American Fantasy/Drama television series will air on ABC at 8:00 pm Eastern/7:00pm central time.

The show centers on a woman with a troubled past who is drawn into a small town in Maine where the magic and mystery of Fairy Tales just may be real.

The main characters are played by Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan: a 28 year old collector who learns that she holds the key to saving the real and Enchanted worlds and Jared Gilmore as Henry: Emma’s son whom she gave up for adoption 10 years earlier. Henry learns the truth behind Storybrooke from a book of fairy tales and finds his biological mother.

Good  show or bad show ? We will know it sunday at 8!

What else could you do with $10 million?

The reality star Kim Kardashian is getting ready for her “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event” two-part four-hour special airing on E! Sunday and Monday nights, October 9th and 10th.

Kimberley Kardashian and her husband Kris Humphries may have officially gotten married almost two months ago (Saturday, August 20th), but we all know that nothing is ever “official” for the Kardashian family until it airs on E!

Of course, while the happy couple’s nuptials have already been very well documented, this will be the first chance for us “humble” people to be captivated by the judiciously edited $10 million wedding !!

I am just really curious to see what made the wedding worth $10 million !! I mean I would do sooo many other things with that amount of money !

Status conferral of pregnant women

For the last three weeks, I’ve noticed that media and especially magazines are on the look out for soon-to-be mamas. Beyonce Knowles, Kate Middleton, Hilary Duff and Jennifer Garner have been the center of focus of yellow journalism, on the front pages of people magazines such as US Weekly, People, USA Today, Ok!, Star Magazine and so on…

Although it usually gives a push to their careers, some soon-to-be mamas try really hard to keep it from the public until it’s too obvious to preserve their privacy. For others, it’s more a matter of shielding themselves from the extra, unnecessary and unhealthy stress and exposure.

In Kate Middleton’s case, there is no way for the public to be certain that she’s pregnant. Well kept secret or media pressure?

One thing is certain, the media sure have their way with pregnant celebrities.

Miss Universe 2011

On Tuesday, September 12^th, Miss Angola, Leila Lopes, 25 was elected Miss Universe in SaoPaolo Brazil, dethroning the Latin-American beauties, which were elected seven times for miss universe for the past ten years.

Leila Lopes eliminated Miss Ukraine, Miss Brazil, Miss Philippines and Miss China, the five finalists, to become “the most beautiful woman in the world”.Representing Angola and all of Africa, this young woman declared that she wanted to be a business woman in her country to help poverty in Africa.

Throughout the two-hour event, contestants from nearly 90 countries and territories around the world competed in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and personality interview. Miss Universe 2010, Ximena Navarrete, crowned her successor at the conclusion of the two-hour primetime telecast.
